Weekend with the Grandkids

We're all having a grand time! Grandpa and Nana took naps this afternoon. Kids wear us out.

Daughter and grandson, plus two cats, arrived safe but tired Wednesday afternoon.

Jerry picked up his grandson and granddaughter from Idaho, Friday. I made it back home late Friday night, actually it was early Saturday morning.

I had a super birthday on Saturday. The kids had a delightful time riding horses all morning long. By afternoon all were hot and dusty. I suggested playing in the sprinklers. That was fun for maybe 10 minutes when Tristan suggested we go play in the American River. I said,"sure!" He said that's why grandparents are so 'grand', they spoil the grand kids. :-)

The evening was spent down in the American River. It was perfect. The kids thought it would be great to have rafts or tubes to float down but we don't have. They had so much fun and finally, reluctantly, we headed home.

Today they begged to ride horses from the time breakfast was finished. We saddled up and they rode for hours again today. It is hot out there but the sky is clearing and the air quality isn't as frightful as the past week has been.

The kids are all out back at Amy's place, in the air conditioning, playing a race car video game of some sort. They are all getting along very well. As soon as Grandpa wakes up, we'll put up his tepee tent for the youngsters to sleep in tonight. I am guessing that none of the three make it the entire night sleeping out there.

Looks like lots of fun to me. The horses will sure get a nice work-out. Real nice to have grandparents who live out and have horses and real nice river, close by, to swim in. But now you need to get couple of old tire tubes so the kids can have some real fun on the river. Amy needs to join in on the fun also.

I hope your tempature cools off a little and air stays clear and no more fires around area.

Enjoy you daughter and all the grandkids. Be a time to remember.

Take care. XO "Hi, Jerry, Amy, Tristan"

Happy Birthday! What a great way to entertain grandkids, or any kids, or girl friends, or bloggy buddies, geez can I come?
Glad the sir is clearing up!
Saw on the news last night 31 large fires still burning, it broke my heart to see that Big Sur is on fire.

The kids made it all night long in the tipi (tepee?teepee?) They're all still sleeping.

Thanks for all of the birthday wishes!

Di, Grandpa slept in his bed all night and had to head down to the bay area early this morning.

Mom, it is very cool this morning and the sky is BLUE!

LUCY! thank you and welcome to my dusty, smokey trails.

Courtney, I am sure that's why at a certain age we can no longer have kids. It would kill us with exhaustion.

Karen, com'on over.....

oh boy I just want your thoughts, I'm sure you hate vet questions, I get nurse questions so I can relate. I took my skinny 15 month old kitty to the vet today and he kept her to test for fe leuk, but he thinks it may be kidney damage from the cat food thing. He looked pretty grim, I asked him to do a fecal just to be hopeful. I'm afraid i'm going to be looking at another bad scenario with a pet.
If she doesn't have leuk and it is kidney damage would you let her alone as long as she seems to be feeling ok? She still wants to go outside and purs but she eats very little. She is pretty pink, not pale, but he said the place to start was with the leuk. Makes sense it's always a hunt for the answer. He's a pretty sharp vet.
I know wait and see, but I wondered what you'd do.
